Songea is a city in Tanzania . It is the administrative center of the Ruvum region, as well as the city of the same name and rural [1] counties. Population - 98 683 people. (2002 census) [2] .

The population of Songea, according to the 2002 census , was 98 683 people [2] . At the same time, a steady population growth is observed: in 1978, 17 955 people lived in the city, in 1988 - 52 985 [2] .
