Cathedral of Smolensk Saints

The Cathedral of Smolensk Saints is a group of saints of the Russian Orthodox Church whose life was connected with the territory of the Smolensk diocese : those born and living in the Smolensk region, as well as those born on the Smolensk land, but who performed the feats of piety in other lands. The celebration of the Cathedral of Smolensk Saints is timed to the day of the celebration of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God and is celebrated on the first Sunday before July 28 according to the Julian calendar ( August 10 according to the Gregorian ); it was established in 1983, first included in the Orthodox calendar of the Russian Church - in 1986.
