En-Nabq [1] [2] , En-Nebq [3] [4] ( Arabic. النبك ) is a Syrian city, administratively owned by Damascus governorate. It is located 81 kilometers (50 miles ) north of Damascus and south of Homs . It occupies 35th place among the largest cities in Syria . The monastery of St. Moses , located in Antilivan , near En-Nabq, dates from the 6th century AD. [5] The city is mainly inhabited by Sunni Muslims, Catholics and Syrian Christians. [6]

Content
History
Al-Nabq was mentioned by Arab geographers at the turn of the XII-XIII centuries. Ibn Jubair wrote that this settlement north of Damascus is "with plenty of water and wide arable land." Yakut al-Hamawi left a note in 1225 : [7]
It is a nice village with all amenities. Here is a curious autumn, which becomes cold at the end of summer, while the water remains crystal clear.
Attractions
To the west of the city is the Deir Maar Moussa Al-Khabashi Monastery, also known as the Monastery of St. Moses of Abyssin. [five]
