The process of ratification of his candidacy began on September 8, 2011 [1] . He was preceded by a debate about whether Harry Conil could be nominated for this post, since, according to the constitution, he had to live at least five consecutive years in the country. The president supported the nomination, arguing that Harry Conil worked as a doctor in the UN system and could be exempted from this requirement. [2] [3] . The Chamber of Deputies unanimously approved his candidacy on September 16, and the Haitian parliament confirmed his appointment on October 5, making Harry Conil the 16th and youngest since the adoption of the current constitution by Haitian Prime Minister. [4]
He resigned on February 24, 2012 [5] , but continued to serve as Prime Minister until the appointment of Laurent Lamot on May 14 , who turned out to be the younger Prime Minister of Haiti. [6] .
Married to Betty Russo, daughter of former Haitian Prime Minister Mark Bazin . In this marriage, twin daughters were born: Soraya and Gael.
