As a result of the earthquake, a stone collapse blocked the channel of the Agynykatta River with a natural dam, which formed a picturesque lake.
The water in the spring and summer is cloudy, since the streams that feed the lake originate from the glaciers of Dzungaria . But as soon as the cooling of the glaciers ceases with cooling, the water becomes transparent blue. It is noteworthy that the area of Lake Zhasylkol is the habitat of a large population of deer . The water temperature does not rise above 10 ° C even in the summer.
