Biography

Born December 31, 1914 in the village of Herrick-Kala (now within the boundaries of Ashgabat , Turkmenistan [1] ) in the family of a poor peasant.

Since 1923 - in a boarding school for girls named after Ene Kuliev.

In 1931 she graduated from the Ashgabat Pedagogical College, where she participated in the choir and drama group. She worked in Bezmeina as a teacher of a rural school, secretary-translator in Brinzotrest. Attended drama school.

From 1934 - actress of the Turkmen Drama Theater (later named after IV Stalin, from 1963 named after Mollanepes, now - the Mollanepes Student Theater ) ( Ashkhabad ). In 1955 - 1960 - director of the theater.

In 1939 - 1940 she studied at the Turkmen Opera Studio, where she trained personnel for the future of musical theater. The students of the studio staged G. Kahiani’s opera “The Fate of Bakhshi”, in which Sona sang the part Uzuk [2] .

Member of the CPSU (b) since 1940 . The deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR 7-8 convocations (1966-1974). She was the secretary of the trade union committee , then the party committee of the theater.

Sona Muradova died on May 16, 1997 .
