Biography
Born in Bangui in the family of the physician Maurice Maidu, had a twin brother Christoph, who later became a diplomat .
On July 14, 1978 he replaced Ange-Felix Patasse as Prime Minister of the CAI . On September 4, 1979, secretly from Bokassa, he sent a letter to Paris urging the French authorities to intervene and put an end to the dictatorship of the emperor. For this, on September 21 of the same year, when Bokassa was deposed with the help of French paratroopers, the new president of the restored republic, David Daco, made him vice president of the Central African Republic.
At the end of 1980, Maidu left the ranks of Daco supporters and on December 27 founded his own party - the Republican Party of Progress (RPP). Subsequently, he headed the state bank, and on January 12, 2004, at the proposal of the former president of the Central African Republic, Andre Kolingba became his special adviser.
