Education in Ishimbay is a network of educational institutions in Ishimbay. In the city of Ishimbay, there are currently 22 preschool educational institutions (kindergartens), 17 secondary schools, a special (correctional) educational school of the VIII type, 2 innovative institutions, and innovative boarding schools [1] [2] . There are institutions of higher, secondary and primary vocational education. Of the institutions of additional education - the Palace of Children's (Youth) Creativity, the Children's Art School, the Children's Ecological and Biological Center and the Interschool Training Courses for Labor Training and Professional Orientation of Students. Recently, the return of buildings to kindergartens, closed in the 1990s due to low birth rates [3] [4] , has begun.

Higher education institutions
Higher professional education in the city is represented by the Ishimbay branch of the Ufa State Aviation Technical University - the largest branch of the university, founded in 1980 on the initiative of the Ishimbay plant of transport engineering [5] . The first decade, it was located in the building of the former school number 8 on Revolyutsionnaya street , 85. At this time, a new building was being built for the branch on Chkalov street , the construction of which was abandoned. In 1990, the branch moved to the vacant school building No. 11 on Gubkina Street 26. In 2005, the building of the House of Public Services on Gubkina Street 15 was transferred to the Ishimbay branch [6] .
Also in Ishimbay there are representative offices of the VEGU Academy (Eastern Economic and Humanitarian Academy) and the Modern Humanitarian Academy .
Specialized schools
Secondary vocational education is provided by Ishimbay Petroleum College , one of the strongest among related Russian educational institutions, founded in 1932 (initially in Sterlitamak , since the city of Ishimbay did not exist) [7] . Ishimbay Oil College is the first educational institution of vocational education in the fuel and energy sector in Bashkiria, the creation of which is directly related to the discovery of oil and gas fields in the republic. With the advent of the basic enterprises and the city in 1942, the technical school was transferred to the city of Ishimbay. In 1966, a training building was built on Gubkin Street - a three-story building with bright classrooms, a year later the construction of a production building connected to the school building was completed with a warm transition, and another year later, a four-story dormitory building for 300 people. In 1993, the college received college status [8] .
Elementary schools
Ishimbay primary vocational education institutions are a special vocational school No. 1 of closed type, vocational school No. 21 and vocational school No. 76. For a long time there was school No. 65 on Gubkina Street (originally located at the intersection of Bulvarnaya and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Streets).
Special vocational school No. 1 of the closed type - founded in 1974 . This is a closed institution for difficult teenage girls from 14 to 18 years old. It is one of the leading schools of the country of a similar profile.
Vocational School No. 21 was founded in 1940 as Vocational School No. 2. Over the years of its existence, the institution has trained 18 thousand specialists for the oil and light industries, mechanical engineering, and transport. According to the results of contests, competitions, olympiads in general disciplines, in the 2008–2009 academic year academic year PU No. 21 was included in the top ten educational institutions of primary vocational education in the Republic of Bashkortostan [9] .
Professional Lyceum No. 76 - was founded in 1983 by the institution’s base enterprise - Ishimbay Transport Engineering Plant . Over the past 20 years, more than 4,600 highly qualified specialists have been trained [10] .
