Kantiniek volost ( Latvian. Kantinieku pagasts ) is one of the twenty-five territorial units of the Rezekne region of Latvia . Located in the northwestern part of the province. It borders on the Dritzansky , Audrinskaya , Sakstagaly and Rikavsky volosts of its own region.

The largest settlements of the volost are the villages: Liuzha (parish center), Kantiniki, Zimelevka, Zirkova, Zyabki, Leimani, Kristzeli, Banguly.
The following rivers flow through the parish: Rezekne (along the border with the Sakstagaly volost), Liuzhanka, Murdava.
History
In 1945, the Kantiniek village council was established in the Sakstagaly volost of Rezekne district . After the abolition of the volost division in 1949, it was part of Vilansky (1949-1962) and Rezekne districts.
In 1962, the territories of the liquidated collective farm “Draudziba” of the Rikavskiy village council and the liquidated state farm “Komyaunietis” were annexed to the Kantiniek village council. In 1981, parts of the territories of the Dritsensky and Rikavsky village councils [2] .
In 1990, the Kantiniek village council was reorganized into a parish. In 2009, at the end of the Latvian administrative-territorial reform, the Kantiniek volost became part of the Rezekne region.
