Biography
An employee of many magazines of the 40s, he acted as a republican figure during the 1848 revolution, was appointed commissar of the republic in the department of Charente, but during the empire of Napoleon III moved away from public activities. In 1870 he was elected the great master of the Great East of France. The government of national defense appointed him the prefect of the Charente department, Thier transferred him to Perpignan, where he died.
