The second passion of the director-animator Roman Davydov was history. The fruit of this interest was a series of cartoons devoted to the ancient history of the Slavs and the medieval history of Russia : “ Childhood of Ratibor ” (1973) - about the ancient Slavs - Ants , “ Swans of the Nepryadva ” (1980) - about the Battle of Kulikovo in 1380 , “The Tale of Evpatiy Kolovrat” (1985) - on the heroic defense of Ryazan against the troops of Batu in 1237 - 1238 ^[1] .
Despite the fact that the action of the cartoon The Tale of Eupathia Kolovrat takes place a century and a half earlier than the action of the animated film Swans Nepryadva, the tapes are united by the presence of the same character - the blacksmith Egor from Ryazan. The appearance of the character is almost identical in both cartoons.
