Biography

In 1939, after graduating from the Odessa Industrial Institute, he was sent to work in Solikamsk for a magnesium plant, which was part of the Berezniki Titanium and Magnesium Plant. In March 1943, shift supervisor I. V. Vinarov, having armor from conscription as an employee of an important defense plant, went to the front as part of the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps.

The radioman, intelligence officer, translator I.V. Vinarov fought on the Kursk Bulge, participated in Proskuro-Chernivtsi , Lvov-Sandomierz , Vistula-Oder , Berlin and Prague operations, liberated Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia. Twice wounded.

In 1949, at the Odessa Polytechnic Institute, he defended his thesis on the topic: “Preliminary leaching of sodium ferrite in the production of caustic soda using the ferrite method” (headed by Professor E. C. Lopatto ).

Since June 1949, he has been working in Ukrgiredmet as a senior researcher, and then as a head of a physical and chemical laboratory, and as a head of the rare metals technology department.

In 1984 he defended at the Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology. MV Lomonosov doctoral dissertation.

In 1984, I.V. Vinarov retired.

Scientific Activities

Under the leadership of I. B. Fraiman and I.V. Vinarov, technologies have been developed to isolate lithium , rubidium and cesium compounds from spodumene and lepidolite . For the first time in the USSR, production of reactive - pure chlorides , fluorides , carbonates and sulfates of these elements was established, which made it possible to abandon the import of deficient cesium, necessary for the manufacture of photovoltaic cells.

Under the leadership of I. V. Vinarov, technologies were developed for isolating germanium from supra-resin waters of coke-chemical plants: sedimentation with an oak extract ( tannin ) and the iron hydrate method. It should also be noted technological solutions for cleaning compounds of germanium, in particular, from arsenic. As a result of these works, the semiconductor germanium industry was created for the first time in the USSR.

In 1962-1963 I. N. Tselik and I. V. Vinarov with the staff carried out research on high-temperature chlorination of monazite concentrate and extraction separation of REE. Based on these works, the receipt of 60 pure compounds of 12 lanthanides and yttrium was organized at the Experimental Plant of the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.

In the early 50s, in parallel with the germanium theme, I. V. Vinarov began to deal with the problem of atomic materials - zirconium and hafnium, which are necessary for obtaining structural materials of nuclear reactor construction, in particular, tubes for TVELs (fuel elements) and neutron moderators. in the Soviet Union, high-purity zirconium compounds (with a minimum content of hafnium) and hafnium (with a low content of zirconium) were obtained.

In the 60s, the department of I.V. Vinarov carried out a cycle of research in chemistry and technology of vanadium, developed new and effective methods for obtaining various of its compounds - in particular, V 2 O 3 , V 6 O 13 , luminous vanadium pentoxide, the first In the USSR, samples of red phosphor glow based on yttrium orthovanadate, activated by europium.

In the mid-70s, under his leadership, technologies were created for the complex extraction of vanadium and nickel from mazut ash and sludge from thermal power plants to produce pure V 2 O 5 and rich (10-17%) NiO concentrates, which have been successfully tested in industry. At the end of the 70s and in the early 80s, the basics of technologies for the isolation of vanadium and palladium from various spent catalysts were proposed.
