Kazakevichev duct and the demarcation of the Russian-Chinese border
Prior to the demarcation of the Russian-Chinese border, the Kazakevich channel was a border channel, separating Tarabarov and Bolshoi Ussuriysky island from Chinese territory.
Kazakevicheva duct - the right bank of the Amur canal, departs from the main channel a few kilometers below the Chinese village of Fuyuan .
Kazakevicheva duct and the village of Kazakevichevo are named after the admiral of the Russian fleet, explorer of the Far East Pyotr Kazakevich .
In the early 1970s, a Chinese ship sank in the Kazakevichy channel, complicating shipping. The Chinese side rejected the proposals of the Government of the USSR on the joint raising of the vessel . China claimed that the shipwreck occurred unintentionally.
In the first half of the 1990s, Russia unilaterally attempted to deepen (with the help of dredgers ) the fairway of the Kazakevichy duct. The Chinese side has protested, dredging has been discontinued.
In connection with the shallowing of the waterway, China obtained permission to conduct its civilian vessels with a large draft from the Amur to Ussuri along the inland waters of the USSR (around Tarabarov and the Big Ussuri Island , past Khabarovsk ). The presence of Chinese warships in the inland waters of Russia is prohibited. A Chinese vessel, while in the internal waters of Russia, takes a Russian pilot on board, a Russian pennant rises on the mast.
After the border demarcation, the Kazakevicheva duct became the inland waters of China.
Construction of a road bridge across the Amur canal
On October 18, 2011, the ceremonial laying of the capital bridge across the Amur Channel took place. The length of the new structure will be 957 m [4] . October 23, 2013 the bridge across the Amur canal was inaugurated. A reinforced concrete two-lane automobile bridge was built near the location of the pontoon bridge. Further development of the left-bank part of the suburban and urban areas is planned. The height of the spans above the water level was 13 meters. [5] [6]
