History
- In 1868, a concession was granted to Hoffmeister Abase and Baron Ungern-Sternberg for the construction of the Kharkov-Kremenchug railway. The capital of the company was estimated at 14.3 million rubles. metal., of which only ¼ - non-guaranteed shares, the remaining ¾ - government-guaranteed bonds. Fair value - 56 378 rubles. from versts.
- By the charter of 1871, the Society of the Kharkov-Kremenchug Railway was renamed the Society of the Kharkov-Nikolaev Railway, with the right to build the Nikolaev section.
- Sumy site was built in 1876-1877.
- The Romansky site and access roads were built by direct order of the treasury, after the redemption of the Kharkov-Nikolaev railway in 1881.
- In 1907, merged with the Kursk-Kharkov-Sevastopol Railway to the Southern Railways .

Geographically, before the merger, the station was divided between two roads. The territory of the Kharkov-Nikolaev railway, located closer to the Cold Mountain. When the Kharkov-Balashovsky station was connected to the Kharkov-Passenger station (at the request of Kharkov residents), the station dead ends of the Nikolaev and Balashov lines (now Lyubotinsky dead ends) were supplemented by dead ends - a passenger train outfit point that overlooked the area the current "Water Traffic".
- New Bavaria.
The first revolving engine depot was built at this station (the remains of the engine building were preserved). Around 1903, the station was connected by a single-track line to the Kharkiv-Balashovsky (Southeast Railway) station, at the initiative of the KhPZ. Factory run-in of locomotives built by KhPZ was carried out on the site: Kharkov-Balashovsky - New Bavaria - Lyubotin. The name "New Bavaria" is associated with the brewery, built near the station, the first owner of which was a German entrepreneur - Goldberg. The historic attraction of the station was - the water tower, now destroyed.

Before the war, from the Merefa station, the single-track line had access directly to the 1st track of Lyubotin station. Due to the crash, in order to ensure traffic safety, reconstruction was carried out to transfer the intersection of routes east of the Lyubotin station. Before the war, on the territory of the Lyubotin locomotive depot there was a locomotive building of the Closed - Siberian type, a turntable was located inside this building.
