Cartel Conspiracy
In the United States, several companies, including Qantas Freight, have been charged with cartel conspiracy between 2000 and 2006. British Airways was the first to be fined $ 300 million. In November 2007, deciding not to wait for the final, Qantas Freight pleaded guilty and was fined $ 61 million [5] . In May 2008, by mutual agreement between Qantas Freight and the US Government, the former head of the company went to prison for eight months [6] .
In parallel, in Australia, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission launched its own investigation into the company. In October 2008, Qantas Freight management agreed with the findings of the Commission and agreed to pay AU $ 20 million [7] .
