Heinrich Canizius ( lat. Henricus Canisius ; surname from lat. Canis "dog" according to the originally Dutch surname De Hondt with the same meaning; d. September 2, 1610 , Ingolstadt ) - a Dutch jurist and historian . Nephew Peter Canisia .

Born in Nijmegen . He graduated from the university in Leuven , from 1590 professor of church law in Ingolstadt.
The main works of Canisia in church law are Summa Juris Canonici (1594), Praelectiones Academicae (1609), De Sponsalibus et Matrimonio (1613), and others. The complete collection of these works was published in Leuven in 1649 and republished in Cologne in 1662 .
As a historian Kanizy acted primarily as a publisher. He compiled seven volumes of various materials under the general title Antiquae Lectiones, seu antiqua monuments ad historiam mediae aetatis illustrandam (1601-1608). In addition, Kaniziy first published the “Chronica Victoris Episcop. Tunnunensis et Joannis Episcop. Biclariensis, Legatio Luitprandi and Historiae miscellae Pauli Diaconi.
