Arslan Dagirovich Khasavov (born August 21, 1988, Ashgabat , Turkmenistan ) is a Russian prose writer, journalist, and editor-in-chief of Teacher’s Newspaper .

Biography
Born in 1988 in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), Kumyk by nationality. He graduated from high school number 1520 named. Kaptsov Institute of Asia and Africa, Moscow State University M.V. Lomonosova , Master's program in Media Management, Faculty of Communications, Media, and Design, Higher School of Economics . Winner of the independent literary award "Debut" (2014) [1] , the All-Russian Competition for Young International Journalists (2013) [2] , and a number of other prizes. In January 2019, he was appointed acting Editor-in-chief of Teacher’s Newspaper [3] .
Activities
The literary debut took place in 2007 with the publication of a selection of stories in the literary and artistic journal "Youth" [4] . Later, the stories were published on the pages of the literary magazines Friendship of Peoples , Neva , Vainakh , Novaya Yunost , Florida (USA), Portal 9 (Lebanon), as well as in collections of contemporary prose in Russia, Great Britain, and China .
In 2010, the novel “Sense” was published as a separate book in the publishing program of the Debut Prize.
Eduard Limonov spoke of this book as follows: “An excellent, polished story filled with healthy youthful narcissism. This Chechen guy created a portrait of a“ disagreeing ”young man in the best traditions of Tolstoy and Turgenev. Arslan Khasavov is a very talented young man. May Allah help him!” [one]
Roman Senchin , in turn, called “Sense” a work in which “the desire to live with meaning sounds so strong, for the sake of something, to do something that inevitably infects with its energy” [5] .
Invited participant of the Edinburgh Book Festival , the Beijing [2] (2011) and New York [3] international book fairs, the Xth and XIVth Forums of young writers of Russia, CIS countries and abroad.
As a journalist, he repeatedly appeared on the pages of Moskovsky Komsomolets , Literary Russia , Nezavisimaya Gazeta , Teacher’s Newspaper , the sites of the Russian BBC Service , Free Press , Private Correspondent , and Echo of Moscow " , MIR24.TV ," Caucasian policy ", etc.
In 2012, he became a literary observer of the show "Prevention" at the Mayak radio station [4] .
In 2013-2014 collaborated with the Interstate Television and Radio Company "Mir" .
In 2013, for his report from the Syrian Homs , published in The New Times magazine, he was awarded the first prize of the All-Russian Competition of Young International Journalists organized by the Russian Council on Foreign Affairs in conjunction with the journal International Life and the Union of Russian Journalists [6] . Subsequently, he became an expert reader of this competition [7] .
In 2017, he again visited Syria and prepared a series of reports for the Russian media [8] .
In 2017, the magazine “Neva” published the novel “The Best Half” [9] . The famous critic and literary critic Lev Anninsky praised him as “a bitter confession of a generation that, having fallen for a moment of timelessness, loses faith and loses its meaning of existence”, and called the author “a confessor of this current generation of thirty years old” [10] .

Translations into foreign languages
In 2012, the story "Sense" in the translation of Arch Tate, who had previously collaborated with Lyudmila Ulitskaya and Anna Politkovskaya , was published in the United States [5] . Separate texts were published in translations into Arabic and Chinese.

In 2014, he became a laureate of the independent literary prize "Debut" in the nomination "Essay Studies" [11] .

In 2012, he became one of the organizers of the visit of Dmitry A. Medvedev to the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University [16] , during which he asked about the progress of investigations into cases of attacks on journalists Mikhail Beketov and Oleg Kashin [17] .
In 2014, he headed the literary studio of the National Research University Higher School of Economics [7] .
In 2014, along with Shamil Alyautdinov and Dinara Satredinova , he joined the jury of the I All-Russian competition of journalists and bloggers about the Prophet Muhammad "Prophet of Mercy" [8] and was awarded the thanks of Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin .
In September 2017, he became the organizer of a rally at the Myanmar embassy in Moscow against the persecution of the Rohingya Muslims. [9]
In 2017, he ran for the post of member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation . [18]
In December 2017, he took part in a press conference of the President of the Russian Federation, during which he asked about the future of Syria after the completion of Russia's military operation in this country [19] .
