Career
Alexander Buturlin began his professional career in 1997 as part of his native Moscow CSKA . 2 years later, in the NHL draft, he was selected in round 2 under a total number 39 by the Montreal Canadiens Club [2] . In the same year, Alexander decided to go to North America, where he began to play for the Ontario Hockey League club Sarnia Sting. As part of Sarnia, Buturlin played for two seasons, gaining 122 (55 + 67) points in 115 matches during that time.
Nevertheless, having failed to make his way to the NHL , in 2001 Alexander returned to Russia, signing a contract with the Ufa -based Salavat Yulaev , and a year later he became a player in the Togliatti Lada , in which he made major successes in his career having won silver and double bronze medals in the championships of Russia, as well as becoming the owner of the Continental Cup in 2006 . In total, Lada Buturlin played 303 matches, in which he scored 120 (47 + 73) points.
In the summer of 2007, Alexander returned to Salavat Yulaev [3] , however, having played only 5 matches as part of it, he moved to the Moscow Region Interior Ministry in which his father Mikhail worked as general manager [4] . Before the start of the KHL debut season , Buturlin again became a player of the Togliatti Lada [5] , in which he scored 11 (5 + 6) points in 44 matches, after which the club began to have financial problems, and Alexander had to leave the team. In the summer of 2009, Buturlin entered into a two-year agreement with Moscow Spartak [6] . Alexander also began the 2010/11 season at the Moscow club, but after 16 matches, in which he scored only 2 (1 + 1) points, the team decided to part with the player, after which he signed a contract with the Chelyabinsk Tractor before the end of the season " [7] , and after 4 months the agreement was extended for another season [8] .
In the course of the 2012/2013 season, he moved from Amur to the Kuban VHL club ( Krasnodar ). In May 2013, he left the team and became a free agent [9] .
International
As part of the Russian national team, Alexander Buturlin took part in the 1999 Junior World Championships, as well as in the 2001 World Youth Championships, having played 14 matches at these tournaments, in which he scored 10 (7 + 3) points. Alexander was also called up under the banner of the national team to participate in Euro Hockey Tour matches in the 2003/04 season.
