Joseph Morton Ml (born October 18, 1947 , New York ) - American actor. He appeared in dozens of television shows and films, but gained the most recognition thanks to the role of Rowan Pope, the main villain and father of Olivia Pope , in the Shonda Rimes series “ Scandal ”, which earned him the Emmy Award in 2014 [1] .

Early years
Morton was born in New York , Evlin Morton's mother worked as a secretary, father Joseph T. Morton, Sr., served as a spy in the US Army [2] [3] . Due to the service of his father, he spent his childhood in West Germany and Okinawa [4] .
Career
Morton's debut was a game in the Broadway production of the musical " Hair ", he was later nominated for a Tony Award for his role in the musical " Raisins in the Sun. " While living in the Bronx , he starred in more than 70 films, including Terminator 2: Judgment Day (as the programmer Miles Dyson). In the fourth season of the series "MES" played the role of captain Sanders. He also appeared in many popular television series, including that he was invited as Dr. Hamilton in the first and second seasons of the Smallville series. Morton became famous for his roles in the series “ Law for All ” (1990−91), “ In the Same House ” (1995), “ The Last Frontier ” (2005) and “ Eureka ” (2006−12). Several times, upon invitation, he played the role of defense counsel in Law and Order . In addition to acting, he is engaged in producing and directing activities. From 2006 to 2012, he starred in the role of scientist and handyman, Henry Deacon, in the regularly broadcast comedy-science fiction series " Eureka ."
Morton had several roles in soap operas, such as: “ Looking for Tomorrow ” (Dr. James Foster, 1973–74), “ Another World ” (Dr. Able Marsh, 1983), and “ All My Children ” (Zeke Macmillan, 2002).
Personal life
In October 1984, he married Nora Chavoshian. They have three children: the daughters of Hopi and Set, and the son of Ara. Joseph also has a grandson - Moser.
