Vampires
Ancient Vampires
Avicus
Avicus ( born Avicus ) - became a vampire in the 4-6 century BC He was a druid and one of the gods of the cult of the God of the Grove in England. The creator of Mael. In the role of the god, the druids sat in captivity under the roots of a large oak tree for several centuries. When Mael was to become a new god, they decided to flee. Mael ordered a "bloody" sacrifice for Avicus, after which he turned Mael into a vampire and they fled.

Hyman
Khayman ( Eng. Khayman ) - a vampire, used to be the main court in the palace of King Enkil and Queen Akasha in Kemet in the 4th millennium BC. e. As an Egyptian, he was tall and strong as a mortal, with very dark skin, large dark eyes and black hair (after turning into a vampire, his skin turned white and became smoother).
As the main court king and queen, Hyman had to rape the twin witches Maaret and Mekara after they incurred the wrath of Akasha. Being naturally soft and kind, Hyman was horrified by this order, but did not dare to disobey the words of the lady. During this rape, he inadvertently conceived a child with Maaret, whom she named Miriam and who subsequently became the ancestor of the “Great Family” Maaret, which spread throughout the globe.
When Akasha and Enkil became vampires, they demanded that Hyman return Maaret and Mekara back to Kemet to find out how they can suppress their insatiable thirst for blood. Mareth replied that the evil spirit Amel, who had settled in the body of the queen, was too large to be completely contained in one human body. Only by further dividing this spirit by creating new vampires, one can make the thirst for blood more tolerant. To test this hypothesis, Akasha violates Hyman's trust and forcibly turns him into a vampire.
Enraged by his fate, Hyman secretly makes a vampire of the twin sisters, hoping one day to rebel against Akasha and defeat her. Next, Hyman and the sisters create new vampires to fight Akasha and Enkil (who began to impersonate the deities Isis and Osiris ). Hyman's “betrayal” is caused by vampire wars, which, in the end, imprison Akasha and Enkila in a trans-like state for 4 millennia.
Hyman lived up to the 12th century. His skin became hard, smooth and white as marble, and no longer susceptible to the destructive effect of sunlight. Although he is truly powerful, Hyman does not like cruelty. He prefers to be alone more. He no longer thirsts for blood, but still enjoys the “refreshment” of the body and the mind that the blood provides. He even has the ability to kill people and animals through telepathy , but refuses to drink blood from friendly mortals, preferring only anonymous victims. Being 6,000 years old, Hyman is capable of killing any weaker vampire by igniting his or her blood.
Hyman is actually a kind, optimistic, and friendly vampire, inviting mortals to their rooms, entertaining them with poetry, music, and conversation. He lives under various disguises in various places, and when he stops having fun or feels pain, he “recedes” into the background and forgets about himself. Trying to remember his origin is painful for Hyman, so he prefers not to do this, in the end, forgetting everything.
When Akasha wakes up from her trance in the 1980s , she kills Enkil and begins to chase and kill her vampire descendants around the world. Hyman inadvertently meets her in Athens and, at that moment, suddenly recalls how he became a vampire and what crimes he committed in the name of Akasha. Realizing that he is invulnerable to the power of Akasha, Hyman pursues her to San Francisco and attends Lestat's rock concert.
Since Talamaska has long been following him under the guise of “Devil Benjamin”, he instantly recognizes David Talbot and Aaron Lightner at the concert. He explains to them who he is and warns that it is safer for them to leave because of an impending disaster.
He also notices vampires Mael and Arman (to whom he begins to be attracted, although Arman does not reciprocate). Hyman advises Maela to hide her thoughts from Akasha, as Akasha is able to find and kill her offspring through telepathy.
While Akasha is engaged in the genocide of vampires around the globe, Hyman, along with Louis and Gabriel, goes to Maaret’s house in Sonoma , as one of the 13 surviving vampires about to confront Akasha in The Queen of the Damned . There, he repeatedly claims that he believes in Mekara’s prophecy about the death of Akasha, waiting for Mekara to come while he is plotting against his former queen.
After the death of Akasha at the hands of Mekare, Hyman becomes the oldest vampire in the world, and some even unofficially consider him a king, since Mekare, the current queen, was created by him.
Hyman is mentioned in the novel The Bloody Anthem when he takes the “newborn” vampires Quinn Blackwood and Mona Mayfair to the shelter of Maaret and Mekar. In the adaptation of The Queen of the Damned, Hyman appears in only one frame performed by Bruce Spence , where he is only one of many vampires in Admiral's Embrace club.
Eudoxia
Eudoxia ( English Eudoxia ) - Greek. Born in the 4th century BC It was addressed at the age of 14-15 years. For a long time she lived in Constantinople. Died at the hands of Akasha in the 10-11th century A.D.
Eric
Eric ( born Eric ) - the creation of Maaret, age 3000.
Petronia is the creation of Arion. At the time of the appeal she lived in Pompeii, with an approximate age of 2000 years. Hermaphrodite. He has a cruel disposition and a quick-tempered character. Created by Mandwood Blackwood (with his consent) and Tarquinius Blackwood (against his will).
Arion is an approximate age of 3,000 years, the creator of Petronia and its companion for the 2000s. Restrained, kind, calm, fair.
Vampires of the Middle Ages
Alessandra
Arjun
Arjun is a vampire with an inexhaustible thirst for life, a companion and affectionate lover of Pandora. Too strong, too masterful and his own master. Little by little is mentioned throughout the cycle, but for the first time is described in detail in the novel “ Blood and Gold ”. Arjun is from India, according to the description of his face “of incomparable beauty with large wet black eyes, flawless brownish-cream skin ... and a smooth, seductive mouth.” He dresses luxuriously: his clothes are studded with huge diamonds, and rings, buckles and buttons are worth a fortune . According to Marius, Arjun looks like a nobleman - a lace shawl, high heels.
He "took" the place of Marius, so the latter does not favor him. Throughout the cycle, Marius mentions Arjun as a cruel, vicious savage and tyrant, who suppressed the will of Pandora. Only in the eighth novel does the vampire reveal the truth - it was she who created Arjun, taught him European customs and he is not a despot at all, but her protector and comforter: “He is my son, my husband and my guard”. Pandora allowed Arjun to control her life so that in moments of weakness and despair he controlled her. In a conversation with Marius Pandora refuses to leave Arjun, because she believes that she does not have the courage to leave him and everything is extremely simple and clear with him, unlike Marius. As a result, contrary to his fantasies, Marius has to admit that he is not an insidious ruler at all, but the “son” of his beloved Pandora, a young vampire no older than five hundred years old, full of love for her. In the end, he and Pandora leave Dresden .
Magnus
Magnus ( Eng. Magnus ) - a vampire, the creator of Lestat, was an alchemist during his lifetime; he was converted by a captive vampire. He completed his earthly journey by suicide on fire.
Santino
Santino ( born Santino ) - a vampire, leader of the "Children of Darkness", who attacked the palace of Marius of Rome and captured Amadeo. It was rejected by Pandora. He died at the hands of Thorne.
Thorne
Thorne is a Viking. Turned by Maaret.

Bianca Solderini
Bianca Solderini ( born Bianca Solderini ). Appears in the novels “The Vampire Arman ” and “ Blood and Gold ”.
Bianca was born in Florence , Italy in the late 1470s . She is slender, flexible, with wavy curls in the Botticelli style, into which pearls are often woven, and almond-shaped gray eyes, she has nobility, intelligence and a good heart.
She carelessly lives a mortal life with her brothers until they die, and the girl becomes financially dependent on her bad relatives, bankers. They generously provide it, while at their compulsion Bianca kills disagreeable persons. The girl arranges dinner parties in her house as a friendly hostess, where young women and men gather, spend hours reading poetry and enthusiastically discussing foreign wars, presenting guests with poisoned glasses of wine.
When Marius first met Bianca, she was reputed to be a famous Venetian courtesan . Marius immediately falls in love with her and becomes obsessed with the girl, thinking of giving her a dark essence. A few years after their meeting, Bianca met Amadeo, who also falls in love with a young lover. These three form a love triangle under the nose of the Children of Darkness, led by Santino. A group of vampires is unhappy with the "secular and godless life" that vampires allegedly lead, because at their discretion they are godless bloodsuckers, "created to be the scourge of the human race." A gang of vampires destroys the Master’s palazzo, burns Marius himself and kidnaps Amadeo.
Strongly weakened Marius, however, survives, but not without the help of a faithful Bianca. He mentally calls the girl, makes her a vampire, and in this guise, she brings him victims.
Marius and Bianca take care of the Ancestors (Akasha even allows Bianca to try her ancient blood) and do not part for two hundred years until the vampire leaves her lover. The reason for this is Marius' immense love for Pandora. Bianca leaves in an unknown direction and Marius is not even sure that her lover is still alive. The last time Bianca was seen by Arman, this happens in Paris at the beginning of the 19th century .

After Lestat saved the flock of wolves from the vicinity of his castle, Nicolas, along with other grateful villagers, brought Lestat gifts - boots and a wolfskin coat. The young people became friends and spent a lot of time together. Nicolas often played violin for Lestat. Together they later fled to Paris. After the unsuccessful treatment of a vampire, Nicolas and Lestat broke up. Vampires of the 20th — 21st Centuries
Benji
Benji ( Eng. Benji ) - Creator - Marius. Beloved Armana.
Jessica Miriam Reeves
Jessica Miriam Reeves ( Jessica Miriam Reeves ) or just Jesse . Appears in The Queen of the Damned , mentioned in Merrick .
Jesse is a distant descendant of Maaret and a member of the Great Family. She became a vampire when she was thirty-five years old. Jesse has a fragile physique and pale skin due to constant sitting in the libraries, as well as green eyes and red hair.
Her mother Miriam died in a car accident as a teenager, being in the seventh month of pregnancy. Jesse was born miraculously and was found on the side of the road a few minutes after the accident. Nameless, she remained in the hospital for almost two weeks, until Maaret came for her and gave her a name. Jesse was the last surviving member of the Reeves family in South Carolina . She was adopted and raised by Maria and Matthew Godwin in New York , her cousins. It was Maaret who provided Jesse with everything she needed and ensured that Jesse could go to any university in the world. She even arranged for Jesse to meet other members of the Great Family living all over the globe.
Maaret, whom Jesse knew as her aunt, was constantly in the census with Jesse. As she grew older, Jesse learned that she could read the thoughts of others and see ghosts and spirits. Having told Maaret about this, the girl learned that this ability is often found among women of the Great Family. This gift usually accompanies green eyes, pale skin and red hair.
Jesse first meets with Maaret during his third year at Columbia University . Two years later, she spent part of the summer with Maaret and Mael, her close friend, at Maaret’s house in the Sonoma Mountains, California . That summer, she discovered the history of the Great Family and spent a lot of time looking at old portraits and photographs and reading the recorded history of the Family. She realized that the Great Family is very ancient, finding records in Old Latin , Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian .
After some mysterious events, from which she could only recall passages later, Maaret and Mael left the house. Maaret left Jesse a letter in which she apologized for the sudden departure and said that she would send a car for Jesse to take her to the airport, as Jesse's further stay with Maaret and Mael will lead to undesirable consequences in Jesse's life.
Later, Jesse moved to London and got a job at the British Museum . During this work, Eron Lightner approached her. He showed her her dossier, which was a secret organization called Talamaska . Apparently, they knew about her ability to see the other world and invited her to the organization. Jesse agreed and began to consider Talamaska her new Great Family, rushing to study the vast storehouse of knowledge of the order. Maaret was not happy to hear about this choice of Jesse, but after Jesse promised not to reveal to anyone the truth about the Great Family and Maaret’s house, she resigned herself to the choice of “niece”.
At first, Jesse worked in the archives, translating texts from Latin. She then worked in the field, and she was sent to ghost homes throughout Europe and the United States . Later, she met with David Talbot, the head of the order, who told her that vampires exist and sent her to New Orleans . Her task was to investigate and document the events described in the Interview with the Vampire book. During her investigation, she violated Talamaski's strict rules for dealing with vampire cases, which led to the emergence of the spirit of Claudia . After that, Jesse was sick for several weeks and was suspended from the assignment.
Later, she visited Mary and Matthew in New York, where she discovered Lestat's book, The Vampire Lestat , and his diary. Jesse decided to go to his concert in San Francisco . On her way from New York to California, she stayed for a break in Maaret’s house, where she recalled a little more about what happened last summer. Around the same time, Jesse began to have a recurring dream about the red-haired twins. The same dream began to be seen in many vampires around the world.
During the concert, Jesse managed to climb onto the stage where she rushed to Lestat. Thus, she confirmed her suspicions: Maaret and Mael were vampires, like Lestat. After the guards dragged her off the stage, Jesse discovered an unknown vampire who learned from her thoughts that she was a member of Talamaski. Enraged, he threw her across the room, turning her neck. Mael, who did not have time to protect Jesse, took her from the hospital, where she had no more than a few hours to live, and gave her enough of her blood to keep her on the verge of life. Jesse did not want to die and asked Mael to make her a vampire. Before he could do this, Maaret entered the room and did it instead.
Having become a vampire, Jesse is much stronger than others who became vampires around the same time (as Daniel Molloy), since Maaret made her strong by giving her a lot of her ancient blood. Jesse now has no real need for blood.
In the movie “ Queen of the Damned, ” Jesse is played by actress Marguerite Moreau , she looks much younger than her age in the book. In the film, Jesse also did not have any mental abilities. In the film, Jesse makes Lestat a vampire, not Maaret.
David Talbot
David Talbot is a fictional character from the Anne Rice novels series, The Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches . Appears in the works “ Queen of the Damned ”, “ The History of the Body Thief ”, “The Vampire Armand ”, and “ Merrick ”. He is the leader of a secret society called Talamask , which for over twelve centuries has been studying and investigating all supernatural .
David is an elderly man, although in the adaptation of The Queen of the Damned , actor Paul McGann played him as a middle-aged man. For the first time, David met Lestat and Louis after the events described in the Queen of the Damned novel. Lestat teases David by offering him his blood, however, David confidently refuses. Talbot and Lestat are already connected with warm friendships in The History of the Body Thief . After Lestat attempts to commit suicide in the Gobi Desert , he turns to David for help. Lioncourt visits Talbot again when Raglan James offers to swap bodies with him, although Lestat does not listen to David's arguments. It is David who helps Lestat regain his body. Struggling with Raglan, men do change bodies and David, seventy-four, finds himself in a young body. New David can be described as a tall man of mixed Anglo-Indian descent. But Lestat did not know about the change of bodies and was deceived by Raglan, after which he killed David's old body, and he returned to his native body. At the end of the book, Lestat makes young David a vampire by force.
David became a confidant of Arman, and later recorded the life story of a vampire. David appears to have a preference for young girls and boys (mostly boys), as described in The Story of a Body Thief.
