The coat of arms of the Kharkov region is the symbol and official emblem of the Kharkov region , which reflects the history, features and traditions of the region. Approved by the decision of the Kharkiv Regional Council of the 28th convocation on May 11, 1999 “On the approval of the symbols of the Kharkiv region”.

Description
The emblem of the region is a shield with a narrow gold border. In the green field of the shield are crossed by a caduceus (a golden rod with silver wings and snakes) and a golden cornucopia into a band. The shield is crowned with a silver outgoing gear (gear), sprouted on the sides with four golden cereal ears. On top of the gear is a silver open book with a symbolic image of an atomic nucleus with electronic orbits. Around the shield are golden oak leaves twined with azure ribbon. The type and description of the frame and the main drawing of the shield of the coat of arms is partially taken from the description of the coat of arms of the Kharkov province .
The ratio of height to width is 8: 7, the rounded parts of the coat of arms represent 1/4 of a circle with a circle radius equal to 1/8 of the height of the coat of arms. Caduceus and cornucopia are placed on the diagonals of the conditional rectangle of the heraldic shield, crossing in its center. The reference emblem is located in the Kharkiv Regional Council.
