The last conflict erupted as a result of the election of the governor: in this case, the Islamic companions of the Tidori, with the support of modernist Muslims from neighboring islands, oppose the more moderate neighbors of the Ternans and their Muslim and Christian followers on the island of Halmahera [ what? ] . History

At the time of dawn (early 17th century), the Tidors subjugated the islands between Tidore and Irian, as well as the west coast of Irian, the south of Halmahera, and the west coast of New Guinea. They were mainly engaged in the spice trade, which is why the sultan of the island of Tidore fought for a long time with the tribes of the island of Ternate for the opportunity to trade in eastern Indonesia. In the 1920s, the Spanish colonialists established themselves on Tidore Island. In the 60s of the 17th century, the Dutch colonial forces ousted the Spanish colonialists, forcing the Sultan of Tidor to sign an agreement in 1667 on the transfer of control of the island to the Dutch East India Company . In 1680, the colonialists made the island sultan their protégé and finally subjugated the island and its inhabitants. In the XIX century, the territory of Tidore became part of the residence of the island of Ternate.
