Mikhail Romanovich Bakaleinikov ( born Mischa Bakaleinikoff ; November 10, 1890 - August 10, 1960) is an American director of sound recording, a composer of film music and a conductor of Russian origin.

Biography
Mikhail Bakaleinikov was born in Moscow in 1890, his siblings Konstantin, Nikolai and Vladimir , also well-known musical figures, were born there. In 1914, he conducted the orchestra during the premiere of the performance of the Sakuntala at the Moscow Chamber Theater under the direction of Alexander Tairov . Mikhail emigrated from the USSR in 1926. In 1931, he arrived in Hollywood and began working in the music department at Columbia Studios .
After the death that followed in 1960, he left the widowed wife of Yvonne Mary ( Yvonne Marie Bakaleinikoff , née Wilson ), two daughters - Victoria Chituni and Annie Bakaleinikoff , as well as two sons - Tony and William.

Career
Mikhail Bakaleinikov played double bass and viola in the Columbia Studios orchestra for films such as The Lost Horizon , before becoming the studio's music director in the early 1940s. He also wrote music for dozens of films among which:
