In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton cast 27.2% of the vote in the 1st round, against 23.0% of Marin Le Pen and 22.6% of Francois Hollande , and Sarkozy won in the 2nd round of the canton. 52.6% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 30.3%, Segolen Royal - 19.7%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 55.2%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 20th constituency of the Nor Department, they supported the incumbent deputy, Communist Party candidate Alain Boke , who won 49.1% of the vote in the 1st round and 69.5% in the 2nd round .
