It is part of the Karachun rural settlement .
The population is 101 people.
Geography
It is located on the high right bank of the Voronezh River, on the border with the Lipetsk Region. One of the two northernmost settlements in the region (the second such point is the village of Perekopovka, Semiluksky district)
History
It arose at the end of the XVI century. The village got its name by hay mowing. [2] Sennoy was first mentioned in the Patrol Book of 1615:
| ... Sennoye village is for the landowners, for the boyars' children, and in the village the church in the name of Archangel Michael is ancient ... |
In 1650, a new wooden church of Michael the Archangel was built in the village. According to church books of 1676, in the village of courtyards of children of the boyars - 42, peasants - 50, Bobyl - 28.
In 1800 a stone church was built instead of a wooden one. In 1859 606 people lived in a village in 53 yards. In 1880, the Archangel Church [3] was built in Sennoye, which has survived to this day. In 1900, more than 1000 residents lived in the village, there were 156 courtyards, a zemstvo school, a forge, and 3 shops operated.
