Biography
Viktor Nikolaevich Kozlov was born on September 24, 1921 in Bryansk. His first clarinet teacher was his amateur father. In 1935, Viktor Kozlov entered the Bryansk College of Music in the clarinet class, which was led (for lack of professional clarinetists) by the German pianist Karl For.
After studying in Bryansk for two years, in 1937 V.N. Kozlov went to Leningrad to continue his musical education and entered the music school named after Mussorgsky in the clarinet class to the soloist of the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra Vladimir Gensler . There were no empty seats in the hostel, so the young musician went to work (and subsequently to military service) in the exemplary brass band of the Leningrad Military District.
During the war he served in besieged Leningrad, and in 1942 he was called to the orchestra of Karl Eliasberg to prepare for the performance of the 7th symphony by Dmitry Shostakovich, which took place on August 9, 1942 in the Great Hall of the Leningrad Philharmonic.
After the Second World War , demobilized from the army, in 1945, Viktor Nikolaevich entered the Leningrad Conservatory in the class of Professor V.I. Gensler , which he graduated in 1950. In 1945 he joined the orchestra of the Leningrad Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. S. M. Kirov , in which he worked until 1965.
From 1948 he taught at the music schools of Leningrad: in 1948-1950 - at the music school of the Leninsky district, in 1950-1954 at the music school named after Rimsky-Korsakov, in 1965-1987 in a music boarding school. Since 1975, he also worked as an artist of Lenfilm , having acted in more than 100 films for 30 years.
Viktor Nikolaevich Kozlov died on August 26, 2006 in St. Petersburg.
