About the album
When Little Richard returned to his old Specialty Records label in 1964, which was recorded in the mid-1950s. made the singer famous, he only recorded a few songs, after which he changed the record company. Specialty then released only one single, “Bama Lama Bama Loo,” with “Annie Is Back” on the back. The single did not become a hit. Despite this, then Tom Jones recorded a cover version of "Bama Lama Bama Loo". In 1970, Specialty decided to release four songs from the 1964 sessions - “Poor Boy Paul”, “Bama Lama, Bama Loo”, “Well Alright!” And “Annie Is Back”. The collection was supplemented by eight old songs of the 1950s, of which only “Keep A-Knockin '” and “The Girl Can't Help It” were hits.
