Irina Viktorovna Tikhomirnova ( July 18 (31), 1917 , Moscow - October 29, 1984, ibid.) - Soviet ballet dancer and teacher, Bolshoi Theater soloist, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1951), winner of the Stalin Prize of the I degree (1947). The organizer together with Igor Moiseyev of the Young Ballet ensemble ( 1966 , now the Classical Ballet Theater of N. Kasatkina and V. Vasilev ). She was the wife of dancer and teacher Asaf Messerer (1903-1992).

Biography
Irina Tihomirnova was born on July 18 (31) 1917 in Moscow in the family of a prominent revolutionary, Bolshevik, friend of Vyacheslav Molotov , Viktor Alexandrovich Tikhomirnov. She graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School (teachers Elizaveta Gerdt and Victor Semenov ). In 1936 - 1959 she danced in the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater .
During the Great Patriotic War, she was evacuated along with the theater to Kuibyshev , where she continued to perform the main parts, and also performed with concert teams in front of the soldiers of the 2nd Baltic Front .
Concert activities involved until 1962. Since 1959 she worked as an assistant teacher at the Moscow Choreographic School , since 1961 - in the troupe of the Brussels Theater " La Monnaie ".
In 1966 , together with Igor Moiseev, she took part in the creation of the choreographic concert ensemble “ Young Ballet ”, until 1970 she was its director (Moiseev - artistic director). Since 1970 - teacher and tutor of " Mosconcert ", since 1981 - artistic director of the Ensemble of classical ballet of the Moscow Regional Philharmonic Society.
Irina Tikhomirnova died in Moscow on October 29, 1984 . Buried at the Don Cemetery .
Personal Life
She was married to a dancer and teacher, a representative of the Plisetskys dynasty - Messerer, Asaf Messerer . Son - Mikhail Tikhomirnov, was also a ballet dancer of the Bolshoi Theater . At the turn of 1990-2000, he organized in Moscow, on the basis of a secondary school, the Irina Tikhomirnova Ballet School, and led it himself.
