David Karp ( born David Karp , born July 6, 1986) is an American entrepreneur, founder and CEO of the Tumblr microblogging service [1] [2] . In 2009, he was named the best young entrepreneur in the field of high technologies in 2009 according to the magazine BusinessWeek [3] , and in 2010 he entered the list of outstanding innovators under the age of 35 years according to the magazine Technology Review , published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology [4] .

Early life
David Karp was born and raised in Upper West Side, Manhattan , New York in the family of Barbara Ackerman and Michael Karp. From the third to the eighth grade, I studied at The Calhoun School, where my mother taught, then briefly attended Bronx Science, and then I studied at home [2] . At the age of 14, he took an internship course with a TV producer and animator, Frank Sebert, after which he continued to work as a software consultant for the US Internet portal UrbanBaby, aimed at an audience represented by young parents. Karp left UrbanBaby in 2006 and in the same year began working on the first Tumblr concept, which was launched in January 2007 [2] [5] .
