Baltic Women's Basketball League 2011/2012

Baltic Women's Basketball League 2011/2012 is the 18th season of the BJBL. On September 6, 2011 in Vilnius , a meeting of representatives of the BJBL clubs was held with the participation of the president of the league, Professor Casimir Prunskene , where the calendar of games for the 2011/12 season was approved [1] . For the 13th time in a row, the Lithuanian HIVI Aistes became the League's winner .

Rules

The tournament is held in three stages

1) regular season - 12 teams in two groups (6 in each) play each other in a round-robin system at home and away;

2) semi - final - 4 teams exempted from stage 1 join the 4 best teams of the regular season (teams that took 1st and 2nd places in their groups):   Vichy Aistes   Lemminkainen   Spartak and   "Horizon". 8 teams, divided into two groups, play among themselves in a circular system at home and away.

3) final - the two best teams from each group go to the Final Four, which will be held at the end of April 2012 at the site of one of the clubs in the playoff system.

Semifinal Tournament

In connection with the refusal of St. Petersburg Spartak to participate in the tournament, a replacement was made for the best fifth club of the group tournament. After the refusal of Sirenos and Kibirkshtis-Tiche, this club became Berezina-RCOR. [four]
