Content
History
Since 1924, all Greek parishes in Italy , Austria and Hungary came under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
In 1991, parishes in Italy were separated from the Austrian metropolis and formed into the structure of a separate Italian metropolis.
In March 2005, the territory of Malta was transferred from the Archbishop of Thyatira [1] .
In July 2012, the Italian Senate granted the Greek metropolis the same rights as the Roman Catholic Church in the country. [2] [3]

The Greek Orthodox Diocese in Italy currently has 74 parishes and 8 monasteries.
