Shmuel "Sam" Vaknin (born April 21, 1961 ) is an Israeli writer. [1] He is the author and publisher of Maligned Narcissism. Narcissism revised (2001), and editor-in-chief of the globalpolitician.com newspaper. He also launched a website about narcissistic personality disorder (NRL). [2]

Biography
Vaknin was born in Kiryat Yam , Haifa , was the eldest of five children, from a Turkish mother, who Vaknin considered to be a narcissist, and his father, who was a builder from Morocco . He describes a difficult childhood, about which he writes that his parents “did not cope with the education of ordinary children, not to mention the gifted,” including Vaknin himself, with an IQ of 185. [3]
He left home to serve in the Israel Defense Forces from 1979 to 1982. Between 1980 and 1983, he founded a network of computerized information kiosks in Tel Aviv , and in 1982 he worked for Nessim D. Gaon Group in Geneva, Paris and New York. From 1986 to 1987, he was the general director of LLC API in London. In the mid-1980s, he became director of the Israeli investment company Mikbats Tashoua [2] and president of the Israeli branch of the Academy of Professors for World Peace . [one]
Vaknin moved to Skopje , Macedonia in 1996, where he married Macedonian Lydia Rangelovska. They founded the publishing house Narcissi Publications in 1997, publishing the work of Vaknin. [4] Between 2001 and 2003, Vaknin was a senior business correspondent for United Press International . [1] [5] He also wrote for the Central European Review on the political issues of the Balkans, [6] as well as for the Middle East Times .
