Geography

Located on the shore of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk at the mouth of the Eastern River.

History

Until 1945, it belonged to the Japanese governorate of Karafuto and was called Motodomari ( 元 泊 ) . After the transfer of South Sakhalin to the USSR, the village on October 15, 1947 received its modern name - according to its geographical location [5] .
