Geography
Located on the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk at the mouth of the Eastern River.
History
Until 1945, it belonged to the Japanese governorate of Karafuto and was called Motodomari ( 元 泊 ) . After the transfer of South Sakhalin to the USSR, the village on October 15, 1947 received its modern name - according to its geographical location [5] .
