Story

The film begins with the theft of secret data from the CIA archive, located on a special container. Agency employee Anna Brandt ( Olga Kurylenko) in Langley receives SMS about theft.

Antwerp , Belgium . The protagonist, a former CIA agent, Ben Logan ( Aaron Eckhart ) lives with his 16-year-old daughter Amy ( Liana Liberato ) and works in a lock-checking office. One day, Ben is early released from work, but he still lingers and is late for the photo contest for his daughter. In the car, she tells him that she is hungry, and Ben lets her mistakenly eat peanut cookies, which Amy is allergic to. She has an attack and the heroes are forced to spend the night in the hospital.

In the morning, Ben drives to the office, but does not find a single employee. Ben calls the company, but he is informed that they have never heard of his work and this has never happened. In addition, Logan lost all email accounts. Together with Amy, they go to Brussels , where its directors are. He is trying to prove the whole truth of what is happening, but they do not believe him. Ben notices that he is being watched, and with his daughter goes to the bank, where Logan hides one of the cells. However, in a car, they are attacked by a long-time colleague Ben, who worked with him. Threatening his daughter with a gun, the villain forces Ben to drive in that direction. Logan drops the car from the bridge and then kills the wounded killer. Police arrive at the scene, but he and Amy manage to escape.

Heroes take the tram, where Ben looks at a map of Brussels. Using the leads, he decides to go to the morgue, where a certain May Ling ( Debbie Wong ) rests. Meanwhile, Anna Brandt contacts the container thief - Agent Derek Kohler ( Neil Napier ). Anna tries to negotiate with him, but he refuses to talk. With the help of a trick, he manages to deceive the face recognition system and open the container. Ben and Amy arrive at the morgue, where Logan manages to persuade him to show the body. After he notices another colleague - Floyd ( Alexander Feling ). Noticing something was wrong, the hero tries to leave with Amy, but he has to fight with Floyd. It ends with the death of the villain and Amy's gunshot wound in the arm. Ben treats her wound and they leave. Along the way, Logan tells Amy that in the past he was an agent of the CIA, but because he did not follow the order and did not commit the murder, he was forced to hide and take refuge in Belgium.

Ben and Amy enter the restaurant. Logan tells her daughter they need to find shelter. She calls her friend Arab Namib and he promises that he will help with housing. They are picked up by Namib's brother in a car, and after persuasion agrees to help them. He takes the heroes to the house, where Ben and Amy are given things, and then delivers the heroes to the house for Arab refugees. His mistress initially refuses, but then allows Ben and his daughter to stay for a few days.

Anna Brandt arrives in Brussels to meet her boss Marty Brymer ( David Bark-Jones ). In the course of their conversation, it turns out that Anna and Marty are agents of the Halgate Group Corporation, which is managed by the elderly James Halgate III ( Garrick Hagon ). The fact is that the Halgeit company ship was transporting weapons to rebels in Africa , but it sank and now the family of the victims filed a lawsuit against James. Anna tells Brymer about Ben Logan, who is being hunted, as he may expose the company. Brandt asks her to help her find Ben, as they knew each other, but Marty orders her to find Kohler.

Ben Logan decides to start his investigation. On leads he goes to the hotel with Amy, where Kohler takes refuge. Amy stays in the lobby and Logan finds Kohler at the hotel and brutally tortures him. At the same time, Anna arrives at the hotel with the operatives in order to capture Derek. Amy realizes that her father is in danger and turns on the fire alarm, thereby delaying Anna. Ben tries to find out information about the container, but Kohler commits suicide . At this moment, Amy appears and with her father they run away. In the parking lot, Logan meets Anna, and threatens to kill her if she does not tell the whole essence of what is happening. Brandt says that the whole office in which Ben worked was an invention, all this time his whole life was rigged by the CIA. Now he is being ordered to remove, since Ben may reveal Halgate's company. Ben and Amy drive away. Amy demands that he tell her everything. Logan says that he was a killer who swept traces for the CIA. But once he did not complete the task and was forced to flee to Belgium. However, his mistake made them and Amy get involved in this story. Amy is angry with her father and runs away.

The heroine flees to Ben and her refuge, where she is abducted by the killer Maitland ( Eric Gordon ) already waiting there. Ben arrives at the place too late and discovers only the things of Amy and the murdered tenant. Residents consider Ben guilty of everything, and he has to leave. The hero meets Namib, who says that his brother was killed and demands an explanation from Ben. Logan tells him about Amy's abduction and offers to help him in the investigation. Ben meets with Anna on the train and recalls their first meeting in Somalia. Logan tells her friend that she does wrong, that she works for Helgate and asks for help to save her daughter. Having obtained the documents from the container, Logan decides to exchange them for Amy. At night, he was attacked by killers whom Helgate sent to him, but he easily kills them.

Anna Brandt goes to meet James. Brymer tries to dissuade her, but Anna does not listen to him. She is trying to trick Amy from Halgate by trickery, but she was seriously injured by Maitland, who was hiding in a car with a knife. Amy tries to run away, but the killer catches her.

Ben Logan creates explosives in a suitcase for Halgate and goes with him to meet in the square. In the square, Logan meets James and Marty. He learns about the death of Anna, after which the killer leads Amy. Ben gives Halgate his suitcase, but Marty reports that their agreement has changed and that Ben must now work for them for the safety of his daughter. Ben says goodbye to Amy and gives her money and a passport so that she can fly to the USA , after which Namib takes her on a moped. James and Marty get into the car, and Logan in the second - with the killer. Suddenly, Ben asks to give Halgate a document that he forgot to put in his suitcase. Maitland leaves for the second car, and Logan is left alone. Halgate opens the suitcase, the explosives fire and an explosion occurs in which Brymer, Halgate, Maitland and bodyguards die.

Amy arrives at the airport and prepares to fly away. At that moment Ben appears and they hug.
