Factory History
The decision to build an instrument-making plant in Taganrog was made by the SNK of the USSR and the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks on December 17, 1939 [3] . Before the start of World War II , a place for construction was determined, a plant design was developed [3] .
Initially, the Priboy factory was designed for the production of military equipment, and torpedo fire assault rifles were chosen as the main nomenclature [4] .
There is also a version according to which the country's government intended to build a tank factory on this site, in order to implement the plan for the rearmament of the army, developed by Mikhail Tukhachevsky [5] . The armor plate for the tanks was to be supplied by the Taganrog Metallurgical Plant [5] .
However, the war made adjustments, and during its formation, from 1946 to 1952 ), the plant produced radar stations, single samples, mostly copies of foreign radars [4] . The final specialization of the plant was determined by the mid-50s: sonar systems for surface ships of all classes and second-generation nuclear submarines, shipborne radar stations for radio technical countermeasures, and training devices for the preparation of sonar speakers [4] .
