Biography
Andrei Smirnov was born on December 31, 1983 in the city of Ruza, Moscow Region . From the age of 12 he became interested in rock music , played in many school ensembles , and from the age of 15 he organized his own band “Detonator”, which in 2001 was renamed “ Everlost ” [2] .
In 2002, the first Everlost demo called Suicidal Instincts was released, the music of which was a mixture of melodic metal with the technical death metal of the Florida school.
In February 2003, he became a member of the Shadow Host power metal band. He recorded the album “Curse of the Angeleye” as part of the group. May 31, 2007 left the group [3] .
On March 27, 2004, Everlost's debut album, Bitterness Of The Triumph, was released on Soyuz / Metalagen Records . The band goes on tour together with the Polish death metallers Vader .
In 2005 he graduated from the Russian State University for the Humanities [2] . He defended his thesis on the topic " Heavy Metal in Russia in the 90s of the XX century: the formation of the musical canon" [2] .
On October 30, 2006, the second album, Noise Factory, was released on CD-Maximum . The disc was recorded with the participation of ex-vocalist of the group " Epidemic " Maxim Samosvat .
In 2007, he took part in the creation of the album “ Epidemic ” - “ Elven Manuscript: A Tale For All Times ”, recording a guest solo on the composition “Without a Heart and a Soul”.
In 2008, he became a member of the Master group [4] , in which he recorded the album VIII [5] , and also played a large number of concerts, among them there was a significant event - the 25th anniversary of the group Aria in Olimpiysky . In 2011, Andrew announced his departure from the group [6] [7] .
On February 16, 2009, the third numbered album “Everlost” was released - “ Eclecticism ”, which became the first Russian-language release of the band. As a guest vocalist, the current vocalist of the Epidemic group Evgeny Egorov took part in the recording.
In 2009, he took part in the work on the album “ The Road Home ” of the Epidemic group [8] and in the creation of the Margenta project, The Dynasty of the Initiates: Children of Savonarola [9] .
In the summer of 2010, Andrei, together with Maxim Samosvat (ex- "Epidemic"), made an arrangement for the song " Playing with Fire " by the group " Aria " for the tribute album " A Tribute to Aria. XXV . "
in 2010, Andrey acts as a session guitarist with the Epidemic group [2] [10] [11] , replacing the founder and leader of the band, Yuri Melisov .
In April 2010, Andrei was invited to take part in the jubilee tour of Paul Di'Anno (ex- “ Iron Maiden ”) as the guitarist of his group during concerts in Russia and the CIS, dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of the album of the band “Iron Maiden” [12] .
In 2011, together with Arthur Berkut (“ Arthur Berkut ”, ex- “ Aria ”) collaborated with the group “ Trust X ”, for which Andrei recorded a guitar solo for the song “Extinct Sun”, and Arthur performed vocal parts with a duet with a permanent vocalist [ 13] .
On September 17, 2011, the fourth Everlost album, entitled “The Path of the Defiant,” was released, which the band dedicated to the band's lead guitarist Pavel Chernobay.
November 3, it became known that Andrew took part in the continuation of the project of Margarita Pushkina "Dynasty of Initiates 3" [14] .
From November 21 to December 7, 2011 [15] Andrei, along with Russian rock musicians, goes on a tour across Russia with Italian singer Robertino Loretti [16] .
November 25, 2011 it became known that Andrei during the joint tour in Russia of two vocalists of “Iron Maiden”, Paul Di'Anno and Blaze Bailey , will be part of the accompanying team [17] .
On January 9, 2012, the musical results of 2011 were summed up on the Mastersland.com website, just like a year ago, according to a survey of portal users, Andrey became the musician of the year (domestic artist) [18] .
On February 10, 2012, the first part of the new Everlost single was released - “The Air Is Melting”, the release is available for free download on the official website [19] . Ilya Mamontov (Epidemic) also took part in the recording. In the second part of the single, the same compositions will be presented as in the first part, but in a symphonic arrangement.
February 23, 2012, Andrei released a solo album called Adrenaline [20] . Available for free listening on the official website of Andrei [20] and on the site "Mastersland.com" [21] . Oleg Khovrin (“ Earthlings ”), Arthur Berkut (ex- “ Aria ”), Vyacheslav Sinchuk (“Galaxy”), Alexander Grata (“Grata”), Vyacheslav Molchanov (“ Kipelov ”), Nikolai Korshunov , Alexey Balabanov [22] .
On March 11, 2012, the second part of the single “Everlost” was released - “The air is melting”, as already written, the compositions remained the same, but were already presented in a symphonic arrangement [23] .
September 24 released a mini-album of the group "Galaxy" - "Last Summer Day" with Andrei.
On December 17, the release of the album of the ex-vocalist of the group Aria and Autograph Arthur Berkut “To Each His Own” took place, for which Andrei performed the arrangements, recorded all the guitar and keyboard parts.
January 15, 2013 Andrew was declared the guitarist of the German band UDO [24] .
On May 3, the UDO video clip for the song "Metal Machine" was published, in which the updated team debuted.
On May 14, 2013, Andrei’s second solo album, entitled “The Fine Line”, was released.
On May 23, 2014, AFM Records released a UDO concert album, Steelhammer - Live From Moscow, featuring Andrei.
On May 24, the album of the UDO group - Steelhammer, was released, which became Andrei's debut work as part of this team.
On November 25, the debut album of modern thrash metal of the Flash of aggression project “Seed Of Hate”, in which Smirnov performed as a co-author, guitarist, bassist and arranger, was released. The video for the song “Paper God” was presented to a wide audience a month earlier.
On December 16, 2014, a new video clip for the title track from the upcoming UDO album “Decadent” was released.
On January 23, 2015, UDO's Decadent album saw the light of day. This time, Andrei Smirnov took an active part not only in arranging, but also in composing songs.
On February 17, the Everlost group announced the completion of work on a new numbered album called V and presented the cover and audio previews to the audience.
On March 30, the Everlost video clip for the new Cut Me Loose song was released.
On July 31, a UDO concert “ Navy Metal Night ” with the participation of a German brass military band was released.
December 19, 2015 Andrei took part in a concert dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the Epidemic group as a special guest.
On December 30, another video was published on the composition of The Unholy War from the upcoming Everlost album "V".
On February 1, 2016, Metalism Records released Andrey's 5-song mini-album, entitled “Gladiator”. The vocals on the disc were recorded by Vyacheslav Sinchuk (“Galaxy”), and Andrey Khovrin, former colleague of Andrey in the groups “ Master ” and “Galaxy”, was responsible for the drum parts. The disc was recorded in Germany under the direction of producer Martin “Mattes” Pfeiffer, known to heavy music lovers from albums of such bands as UDO , Mob Rules, Love.Might.Kill, Anvil [25] .
On May 31, Everlost released a video for the new song, The Machete Season.
In mid-February, the Dirkschneider project, led by Udo Dirkschneider, went on a world tour. Andrey joined the composition as a guitarist.
On October 6, Everlost celebrated its 15th anniversary with big solo concerts in Moscow and the official release of the new album “V” on the Mazzar label.
On October 28, the Dirkschneider live album called Back To The Roots, consisting of Accept 's classic songs, was released.
November 18, 2016 saw the release of the single “The Last Turn” of the Moscow band Abrin with the participation of Andrey as a guest solo guitarist .
Andrey is an endorser of ERG and ESP guitars in Russia, AMT Electronics [26] .
