Biography
Erdvulf was the son of King Edbert I and ruled in the possession of his father after his death. From Erdvulf left two letters of donation of the earth. In one of them, he is named the son of Edbert I. Another literacy is certified by Etelbert II , from which it follows that these two kings ruled simultaneously.
In 767, Erdwulf was overthrown by Hetbert , a protégé of Wessex . His son Oswulf fled to Northumbria , where he died in 811.
