History
The airline Alitalia Express was formed in 1997 on the basis of the disbanded carrier Avianova and began operations on October 1 of the same year. By 2007, the company's full-time staff was 710 employees [1] .
In March 2003, it was reported that Alitalia plans to acquire another Italian airline, Minerva Airlines , which at that time temporarily suspended its flights, with the further transfer of a fleet of turboprop aircraft to Regions under the control of Alitalia Express. For various reasons, the carrier’s takeover did not take place. In September 2004, Alitalia's management announced its intention to acquire 12 Embraer E-170 jet airliners for its regional airline, but these plans were also not implemented [1] .
