Skopinsk Diocese

The Skopinsky diocese is the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church within the administrative borders of the Korablinsky , Miloslavsky , Alexander Nevsky , Putyatinsky , Ryazhsky , Sapozhsky , Sarajevsky , Skopinsky , Uholovsky and Shatsky districts of the Ryazan region . Included in the Ryazan Metropolis .

History

In 1926-1936, there was the Skopinsky vicar of the Ryazan diocese [1] .

The independent Skopinsky diocese was formed on October 5, 2011 by the allocation of its territory from the Ryazan diocese [2] .

On October 6, 2011, the Skopinsk Eparchy was included in the newly formed Ryazan Metropolitanate [2] . Sretensky church of the city of Skopin received the status of a cathedral [1] .
