In January 1925, her record with the song took 12th place. Later the song was recorded by WeeBBuz (1943; his version won 1st place in the Negro charts of Billboard ), Big Bill Brunzi, Mississippi John Hurt , Ledbelli , Peggy Lee , Jerry Lee Lewis , Ray Charles , Chuck Berry , Lonni Johnson (1963), The Music Machine , The Everly Brothers , The Animals (1966), Janice Joplin , The Grateful Dead , etc.
