Biography
From the nobility of Chernihiv county . He graduated from the Chernigov gymnasium with a gold medal and entered the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow University in 1883, but from the second year passed to the Faculty of Law, which he graduated in 1888 as a candidate of rights; for the composition "The history of banknotes circulation in Russia" received a gold medal. He was left at the university and sent on a business trip for two years, upon returning from which he defended his master's thesis βMoney, the experience of studying the basic principles of the economic theory of the classical school in connection with the history of the monetary issueβ and received the post of privat-docent . He served in the Ministry of Finance for a short time, subsequently taking part in the monetary reform of 1897 [1] .
In 1896, he was promoted to an extraordinary professor of political economy at St. George's University . In 1904 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Exchange and economic policy."
He was the first to translate into Russian the works of the classics of political economy A. Turgot , D. Ricardo and F. Quesnay [1] ; also translated J. Ingram [2] and T. Malthus [3] .
He took part in writing articles of the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary .
The younger brother of Ivan Nikolaevich Miklashevsky [4] .
