There is speculation that Appius was the son of Publius Claudius Pulchre , who was a praetor in an unknown year. In 8 BC e. he held the position of monetary. In 2 BC e. Appius was convicted of adultery with Julia , daughter of the emperor Octavian Augustus , and exiled [1] .
