Geli ( kum. Gelly ^[2] ) is a village in the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan .

The village of Geli with the status of a rural settlement forms the municipality as the only settlement in its composition ^[3] .

Geography

The village is located at the foot of Mount Eldama , 13 km northwest of the district center of the village of Karabudakhkent .

History

The first mention in Russian documents dates back to 1598, in the XV — XIX centuries. included in the Tarkov shamshalstvo .

In pre-revolutionary encyclopedias it is more often referred to as Gelly ^[4] ^[5] .
