Biography

From the psalmist's family. After graduating from the Tula Theological Seminary in 1891, he served as a teacher in a parish school in the village of Novgorodsky Bogoroditsky district [1] .

On October 1 ( 13 ), 1892 , he was ordained a priest to the church of the village of Rudin, Belevsky district [1] . Widowed, entered February 7 ( 20 ), 1902 at the Belevsky Transfiguration Monastery . He served as a law teacher in the psalm school at the monastery, was the confessor of the Belevsky diocesan female school [1] . In 1903 he entered the Kiev Theological Academy , which he graduated in 1907 with a candidate of theology degree for his essay “Ideals, their origin, substantial content and implementation” [1] .

November 21 ( December 4 ), 1904 , tonsured a monk [1] . On September 7 ( 20 ), 1907 , he was appointed a teacher of homiletics and related subjects at the Tiflis Theological Seminary [1] .

From June 15 to July 20 ( August 2 ), 1909 , he was an inspector of the Kholm Theological Seminary [1] . In April 1911 he was appointed rector of the Kholm Theological Seminary with the elevation of Archimandrite to the rank of [1] . In 1911-1914, he was the editor of the Kholm Church Life and the Kholm Folk Leaf [1] . In 1913, approved by the chairman of the Kholm Diocesan Administration. On September 9 ( 22 ), 1913 , he was approved as the chairman of the School Council.

Since 1914 - rector of the Ekaterinoslav Theological Seminary .

Since 1915 - rector at the Orenburg Theological Seminary . In 1916-1917 - editor of the Orenburg Diocesan Vedomosti.

Bishops

On May 11, 1919, by order of the Supreme Provisional Church Administration and with the consent of the Supreme Ruler of the Russian state, Admiral A.V. Kolchak , he was ordained bishop of Solikamsk , vicar of the Perm diocese . Hirotonisan June 15, 1919 in Omsk [1] .

October 20, 1919 appointed interim manager of the Perm diocese [1] .

He died on January 30, 1920 from typhoid pulmonary edema. Local authorities, fearing aggravation of public relations, allowed to bury him in a crypt under the cathedral [2] . Buried on February 2 of the same year [3] .
