History

The comedy “Full House” has been aired since October 1987. During this time, many artists and comedians of different genres and levels, whose composition periodically changes, took part in it. This program has earned the popularity and love of the public, especially the older generation, but in recent years it has been subjected to heavy criticism not only by viewers, but also by some government officials.

Late 80s

The period of the end of the 80s became a crisis for the variety of the colloquial genre. Regina Dubovitskaya , drawing attention to this phenomenon, set out to show on television what the stage was like, gathering all the popular artists “under her roof”. For a long time, the program "carried" a fairly strict format and was a guide to the variety of the colloquial genre, in which all the most famous and active artists were assembled [2] . Conversations with the artists were conducted on the place of the stage in the life of Soviet people and almost on philosophical topics.

The name of the program arose as follows. In September 1987, Dubovitskaya asked friends to come up with the name of their future program. In total, during the calls and consultations we managed to collect about 50 options. The word "Full House" was proposed by Lev Novozhenov . When approving the name, the editor-in-chief said: “Full house-grace ... Some kind of non-Russian word!”. In response, Dubovitskaya explained the meaning of the word to him in the context of the program: “Full house - this means that tickets are sold, and all viewers will be sitting on TV screens” [3] .

1990 - Present

Since the beginning of the 1990s, the Full House has become more informal. Until 1994, the program was released several times a year on the First Program of the Central Television , later on on Channel 1 of Ostankino [4] . Since 1994, "Full House" switched to RTR (now the Rossiya TV channel ) and until 2004 aired once a week on Saturdays, and periodically - even on Friday or Sunday, along with them were still festive and visiting issues.

Since the mid-1990s, the Full House has been gaining momentum and has become a kind of star factory for artists not only in the colloquial genre, but also in many others [5] . Beginning artists strive to “light up” in the program. It becomes fashionable to go on tour with Dubovitskaya; most of the stars of the Russian pop music participated in the program. "Full house" goes beyond its format and it has new subsidiary headings, which gradually become separate programs. Until 2006, the program consisted of different variations, namely: “ANSHLAG represents”, “Full house and Co.”, “Full house. Barrel of honey "," Full house. From childhood with greetings "," Avoska Full House "," Full House. Exam ”,“ Storeroom of the Full House ”,“ Full House Gathers Friends ” [6] ,“ Case in the Hat ”. At the same time, “exit” sessions, for example, “Full House on the Volga,” “Full House in Altai,” etc., were also issued [7] . Early name - "Full house? Full house!".

For a long time, the program had a consistently high rating among the audience. The audience share of the program in Russia ranged from 33%, rating - from 14% [8] . In the 2000s, the project began to lose popularity due to annually growing competition. New formats and faces are appearing, and the Full House has recently stopped developing and has become an object of criticism.

Since 2004, the program has become less frequent. Since 2005, it appeared twice a week on Saturday and Sunday, and since 2006 - one and a half hour block on Saturdays. Since the fall of 2007, the program came out once a month and had two broadcasts (daytime and evening), one and a half hours each [9] . From 2008 to 2011, the program was released once a month on Sundays [10] .

From 2011 to 2016, the program was broadcast extremely rarely and was limited mainly to a special issue for the Old New Year [11] .

Since 2016, the program has been released more frequently - 6-7 issues per year.

Collapse of the collective

Comedians of "Full House" repeatedly accused Regina Dubovitskaya of shamelessly using artists - she did not pay the proper fees, violated copyright, broadcasted the numbers of artists [12] who left the program, and hid the fact of the collapse of the collective, because many comedians, especially popular, left the “full house” scene [13] .

Criticism

Currently, the program “Full House” is criticized for its low and inadequate artistic level, flat jokes, numbers and miniatures included in the broadcast. In particular, the then Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Ivanov in December 2004 at a meeting of the Government of the Russian Federation said:

“Look what happens on TV during the holidays - there is a vulgar type like“ Full house ”, so I would like to ask - what has been done to stop the debilitation of the population through television?” [14]

On October 16, 2005, in Moscow on Slavyanskaya Square, a picket was held against this program, the participants of which demanded to replace the Anshlag and Smekhopanorama TV screens with educational, analytical programs or documentaries [15] .

Television critics also spoke negatively about the program ( Irina Petrovskaya ):

Why is the “Full House” on Russian TV provided such a most favored nation treatment - a formidable riddle. This can be explained by the unusual love of our population for humor and humorists and, accordingly, indulging the tastes and requests of the viewer. But such stupid humor, which is cultivated in the Full House program, can only be perceived by an audience adequate to this humor, and to indulge the taste of idiots means not to respect yourself. Even quite decent artists, getting into the “sold-out” party, get silly in front of their eyes and bear such that, sorry for the tautology, even bear the saints. And for some reason, everyone exalted to heaven the host, Regina Dubovitskaya, if it were not for her, the artists of the television broadcast would not have been able to see their ears. Well, by the way, for some, do not be “dear Reginochki”, as if you wouldn’t see the ether [16] .

Reviews

At the same time, Regina Dubovitskaya does not believe that her program is aimed at low-educated masses:

“... I obviously work really for a certain audience. If you consider a certain audience of people who love humor . As for my image, Bunin also said: I’m not golden, so that everyone likes ” [17] .

“When they say“ debilitation ”, I want to say: guys, my entertainment program is not intended to teach anyone to love classical music or good music. A person must look, smile, turn off and forget. And learning is not my task anymore ” [18] .

According to the famous Russian satirist Arkady Arkanov ,

“Full House is a factory of regina products.”
