On June 17, 1966, Berry signed a contract with Mercury Records , and the label’s first requirement was to rewrite all of Berry’s hits for Chess Records , and in faster versions. [2] Another difference from the original recordings was stereo sound. In addition to hits, the album includes a new composition, Club Nitty Gritty.
