Story

Artemis Fowl - the heir to the criminal dynasty of Fowl and the child prodigy. He is convinced that elves, pixies, gnomes and other creatures that people consider fabulous exist in reality, and is going to use them for their own selfish purposes.

Together with his butler bodyguard, Artemis arrives in Ho Chi Minh City. There, one of his informants, Nguyen discovers a fugitive pixy criminal. By deception, the boy lures the Book from her - a kind of encyclopedia containing knowledge about magical creatures. After deciphering the language in which the book is written, Fowl learns that once every two or three years, magic creatures must leave the dungeons in which they live and get to the surface to perform a Ritual that replenishes their magical powers. During the ritual they are defenseless.

Then the action is transferred to the Harbor - the capital of the magic folk. Officer LEPPRKONA (underground police) Alfie Maloy must perform a risky task on the surface - stop the escaped troll. A fierce battle devastates her magical powers and she flies to Ireland to perform a ritual. During this storyline, the reader gets acquainted with the head of LEPPRKON Julius Krut and technical consultant centaur Zherebkins.

During the ritual, Butler manages to capture Alfie. At the estate of Fowl, Artemis tells the elf his plan - to exchange it for a ton of gold. The author also introduces the reader to the inhabitants of the estate - the crazy mother of Artemis Angelina, and the butler's sister - Juliet.

Elven special forces are trying to storm the estate, but suffer a crushing defeat. Since the sun is destructive to magical creatures, and dawn is coming soon, the Foals surround the estate with a field that stops time. Theoretically, it is impossible to leave its limits.

The law of the magic folk forbids entering a person’s home without permission. Artyomis Fowl, having contacted LEPPRCON, says that they can enter the house only through his corpse. Underground psychologists interpret this as an invitation in the event of the death of the owner.

Julius Krut decides to take a desperate step - send the gnome robber Mulch Rytving to the house of Artemis. Since Mulch is a criminal, he is not considered a magical creature, and laws do not apply to him. The attempt fails - the gnome escapes, staging his death (after the operation he is threatened with returning to prison). However, Rytving is distracting the Butler, and Alfie uses this to conduct the Ritual in the house. Having regained her magical power, she hypnotizes Juliet and leaves the camera. However, she cannot leave the house without the permission of the owner.

The ambitious LEPRKON officer, Chips Dubin, seeks the resignation of Julius Krut, and decides to send the troll to the house. The monster mortally wounds Butlers, but Alfie heals him with his magic, because the troll will kill her too. The bodyguard of Artemis, dressed in medieval armor, kills the monster with a medieval mace, becoming the first in history who succeeded without modern weapons.

The reinstated Julius Krut exchanges a hostage for gold. He is going to detonate a biological bomb within a temporary field, which will destroy all life. After the death of Artemis, he will return the treasures to his people. Meanwhile, Alfie has Stockholm syndrome . Meanwhile, Artemis and Butlers celebrate the successful completion of the operation.

Having detonated a bomb, the LEPPRKON fighters penetrate the estate, however, they begin to lose their magical abilities. Zherebkins understands that Artemis somehow left the temporary field. Underground residents are forced to retreat.

Then Artemis tells Butler that eight hours have actually passed, and they did not feel sleepy, because the brain did not perceive time inside the field. Angelina fell asleep to a stop of time, and stayed to sleep. Thus, during a stop of time, a person remains in the state in which he entered the time field. Having mixed themselves, Butlers and Juliet with sleeping pills in champagne, which they drank on the occasion of victory over magical creatures, Artemis created a paradoxical situation and thus left the field, and therefore, the radius of the biological bomb.
