History
RTF was launched on December 21, 1963 as RTF TV 2. In 1965, RTF was renamed ORTF, RTF TV 2 to ORTF TV 2. In 1967, the information program “24 heures actualités” began to be aired, in 1969 it was renamed “ 24 heures sur la Deux ", and in 1972 in" inf2 ". In 1975, ORTF was split into TF 1, Antenne 2, France Regions 3 and Radio France, ORTF TV 2 was renamed Antenne 2, “inf2” was renamed to “Journal de 20 heures”. In 1979, the Antenne 2 Midi information program was launched, and in 1986 it was renamed the Journal de 13 heures. In 1992, Antenne 2 and France Regions 3 were merged into France Television, Antenne 2 was renamed France 2. Broadcasts in 16: 9 mode from April 7, 2008 from 3:20 ( CEST ), from July 1, 2008 the channel began broadcast in high definition.
Mission
The main mission of the channel is to offer a variety of programs to attract a wide audience. On the air national and international information, as well as the best foreign shows and programs. The channel is also the flagship innovation of France Télévisions and all of French television.

The television channel's studio is located in Paris, 7 Henri de France Boulevard.
