Career

Julia Zlobina started figure skating at the age of 5 years. Initially, she trained in singles , at about 10 years old she moved to dancing [1] . Trained in Kirov with Olga Nikolaevna Ryabinina . In 2004, they began to perform at the international level, participated in the Grand Prix among juniors. In 2005 , together with the coach and three more dancing couples ( Olga Gmyzina / Ivan Lobanov , Maria Mon'ko / Alexander Bortsov and Ksenia Mon'ko / Kirill Khalyavin ) moved to Rostov-on-Don , as there were offered the best conditions for training [2 ] [3] . In the 2006–2007 season, we won one of the stages of the Grand Prix among juniors and, receiving a bronze medal in the second, made our way to the Final Series, where there were 6 (of eight participants). The following season, they participated in the “adult” Grand Prix, without much success (7th and 9th place).

In May 2009 , again with Ryabinina, they moved to Moscow and joined the group of Elena Kustarova and Svetlana Alekseeva . But it was not possible to get into the main Russian national team because of the big competition [1] . Their highest place in the championships of Russia was the 5th place in 2010 .

In 2010, figure skaters decided to change their sports citizenship and start playing for Azerbaijan , where there are no other dance duets since 2009 [1] . For the first time under the flag of Azerbaijan, they performed in December 2010 at the Estonian Open Championship and beat the champions of Estonia, a couple Irina Stork / Taavi Rand . The first international competition for Azerbaijan was the 2011 Ondrei Nepela Memorial for a couple, in which they won bronze medals.

In March 2013, Yulia Zlobin, together with Alexei Sitnikov, won the license for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014 following the World Championships in Canadian London [4] . At the end of the year, at the Winter Universiade in Italy, an Azerbaijani couple won a silver medal for the first time for figure skating in Azerbaijan [5] .

At the end of the Olympic season, the couple decided to end their sports career.
