Description
[2] The SVARZ-Ikarus trolleybuses were produced by retrofitting the new Ikarus 280.33, 280.64 and 283.00 buses. The very first trolleybus, upgraded in this way in November 1988, was put to the test at Filevsky Bus and Trolleybus Park in Moscow and received a tail number 0012. It had “planetary” doors (modification 280.64). Since 1989, SVARZ-Ikarus were supplied to the FATP, the 6th and 7th trolleybus parks, but of the latter two they were sold to Vologda , Tver and Rustavi . On June 16, 2004, near the Kropotkinskaya metro station, there was a rupture of the junction joint of a trolleybus with tail number 0048 (283.00), as a result of which all remaining SVARZ-Ikarus were written off in FATP within three months. However, the history of the Ikarus trolleybus in Moscow did not end there: the original Ikarus-280T (assembled by the Ikarus plant) worked at FATP until 2008 as number 0049 (later - 3649).
